Ayanamsa is the angular offset used to relate the tropical zodiac to a sidereal zodiac. Different sidereal systems use different reference definitions, so their values are not identical.

Lahiri is the most widely used ayanamsa in Indian Vedic astrology and is the default convention used by this site's existing Moon and Sun calculators.
Raman and Krishnamurti (KP) systems use different historical reference definitions. KP Old and KP New can also differ slightly from one another.
